Fantastic race suit - superb fit and feel
I bought the RSS 20BPM triathlon suit in late JUNE 2016 and have now raced in it three times - all Olympic distance races. Outstanding fit and feel and this suit does a great job at keeping your body cool on warm, humid days. So you have to realize that when you race, you won't actually see your HR come down 20BPM - you're racing! What you'll notice, especially if you find racing on hot days to be a challenge, is that you'll be able to go faster because you're staying cooler (thanks to the suit design) and thus can go faster because you're body isn't cooking as quickly as it would in a traditional, non-cooling suit. So at this now faster pace, you're BPM will still be what you would expect at race pace.
Some race experience comments:
1) I'm 48 yrs old, ~203lbs (big for a triathlete) and race triathlon regularly. I do ok - I have four AG wins this season at local races. I've completed five full IMs (none in this suit), so I know triathlon (started in 1992).
2) Swim - This suit is FAST in the water. Mine fits very snug and you can feel the compression, especially in the legs. In all of my race swims, I can feel the "glide of the suit" in the water - I was first or second in my AG out of the water every time I raced with this suit. It almost feels "wetsuit like".
3) Bike leg - I don't even think about the suit on the bike - the cooling effect coupled with the wind and the compression in the legs makes for a fabulous ride - the chamois is excellent - again, I don't even think about it - and I mostly ride in the aero position. I raced this morning (11SEP2016) at the Nations Triathlon (Wash DC), and they had me at 23.1mph for 24.8 miles (my first or second fastest split time EVER at this distance) and the suit was aero and comfortable throughout.
4) Run - This is why I felt I needed to try this suit - to see if I could find a way to not bake on the run. I've had solid runs in all three races this year in this suit - all were high humidity and in the 80s or 90s. As a larger athlete, I needed help to try to not cook on the run, and so far, this suit is getting it done for me. I raced IM Raleigh 70.3 earlier this year (WITHOUT this suit) and cooked and suffered on the run, prompting me to make this purchase. I'm exceptionally impressed with the ability of this suit to control my core temperature. I think in warm conditions, this suit helps me stay around 15-20 secs faster p/ml than I would with a traditional, non-cooling suit. That's just a guess, but an informed one.
4) PROS - Aero, compression, cooling, comfortable - this suit has it all. I am pleased with this purchase. This suit does it all.
5) CONS - Pricey, yes (that's why PRICE is only 3 stars), but I don't know all of the technology and research that goes in to making this suit - I suspect there is plenty - and I know that doesn't come cheap. But for VALUE (what you get for the price), there's nothing else out there that seems to offer what this suit offers - I've looked. So that justifies a 5 in VALUE to me.
Finally, putting this suit on requires some finesse - my suit has not torn or ripped, but stickiness of the leg material (yes, you want that) and the snuggness of the fabric (if you get the right size) makes this suit a challenge to slide on without feeling like something might give. So, when you put this suit on, put it on more like a wetsuit rather than a typical trisuit or cycling bib. It's a specialized garment - treat it as such.
Also, yes, it's white - it can get dirty, so don't let it sit long post race, especially if your swim was in the Potomac River like one of mine was - rinse it out, hand wash it, let it air dry, take care of it - and it will take care of you on your next race day, as mine did.
Bottom line: Awesome product - recommend to anyone look for a way to race cooler in a suit that offers that and a lot more.

Awsome Suit
I had this suit for 3 years now and it's time to get a new one.

Initially I Thought it was a gimmick. But I did my 1st race and the suit really works. It was 105 on the race day in Texas and the suit kept me cool. I was able to do my PR and felt very comfortable. the only thing I can say it's the price but if you want a great suit you get what you pay for.
